As the rumors continue to make their rounds in the industry, there is definitely no shortage of speculation and gossip as we are apparently getting closer to the launch date of the next iPhone and possibly the iPad as well. The latest we have for you is that the next iPhone is reported to be even thinner in profile than the current generation and the next iPad will feature a display with higher resolution.

For the iPhone 5 we are expected to see a larger display, thinner design and a 8-megapixel camera capable of capturing full 1080 HD. Don’t expect the overall design to look completely different from what we are use to but more of a refinement despite its “redesign”. Think of it as a Porsche 911 that has yet to change drastically over the years but continued refinement has made it a great vehicle. The iPhone is that same example as they continue to chip away at the design, functionality and quality.

The iPad (3?) is now rumored to not be a major redesign but a refresh more or less with a higher resolution display with improved pixels per inch from 132 ppi to 250-300 ppi. It also makes sense for this as the A5 chip is a dual-core chip and is technically on par with the dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2′s out on the market so there’s no reason for them to create a new tablet featuring the same heart and market it as a new “faster” device.

Whatever it may be, the two devices that will come out in to market will sport iOS 5 with improved notifications and lock-screen functionality.
