Sony Ericsson, who will undergo rebranding — soon to be just Sony, has laid out a roadmap for some of the 2011 Xperia handsets that will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The company plans to start the update process at the end of March/early April 2012. SE did mention that manufacturer and carrier testing can take some time and not all updates will come at the same time, and will be released over a period of several weeks.
The first SE smartphones to get the upgrade are Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V, and Xperia Ray. “Soon after, starting from end April/early May, Xperia™ arc, Xperia™ PLAY, Xperia™ neo, Xperia™ mini and mini pro, Xperia™ pro, Xperia™ active as well as Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman™ will get their upgrades.”
The list of handsets are scattered throughout Fido, Rogers, and TELUS so it’s safe to say that the update will roll out completely before summer.
