NCIX taking pre-orders for the NVIDIA Tegra 3 powered HTC One X

HTC One X

At this point we already know Rogers will be launching the dual-core LTE versin of the HTC One X sometime this spring, but Canadian retailer here on the west coast, NCIX, has been importing the quad-core Tegra 3 HSPA+ version for a nice wad of cash.

NCIX.com, one of Canada’s largest electronics retailers, has the NVIDIA Tegra 3-based One X up for pre-order for $799.99, which supports download speeds up to 42Mbps. Of course it will be factory unlocked out of the box, though were not entirely sure which colors NCIX will be offering, probably Black or White.

While the price is subject to change, it is unlikely it will drop too much when it is released. Reason being is that retailers are not subsidizing their device in anyway via smartphone plans. Rogers and other carriers tend to subsidize their handsets because they are locked.

Before you go out and throw down your hard earned cash, don’t forget NCIX says, “This product cannot be exchanged. Final sale only. No returns or refunds.”
