VIDEO: RIM officially unveils Blackberry 10 operating system

Blackberry Wold 2012 kicked off this morning where journalists and the media got the first glimpse of RIM’s new Blackberry 10 operating system, formerly known as BBX. In a press release RIM stated that the toolkit is available in beta form and is available for download at Blackberry’s Developer website.
As for the devices, the new Blackberry 10 OS will run on Blackberry’s next wave of smartphones as well as Blackberry PlayBook tablets when the new platform becomes available for the tablet. And as reported awhile back, RIM does not plan on launching any Blackberry 10 OS equipped smartphones until the latter part of 2012 so we still have some time to preview what Blackberry 10 OS has to offer and whether or not it is enough to improve if not sustain the current status of RIM.
However, from what I see the OS looks fresh and up to date, much needed for the struggling company. Will it revive what is left with the company? we will see. As Canadians hate them or love them it’s hard to see a once great Canadian company go under so fingers crossed on that one.
With better app development and more appeal from the App World I think the platform can gain some market share back if done correctly. Time will tell. Before we end this article we embedded a video showcasing some Blackberry 10 OS in action.
