ZTE Athena boasting a 6.2mm thin Android smartphone
In the world of technology, it is always amazing to see how far companies will go to take the title of having the ‘World’s Thinnest Handset’. It all started when the iPhone had a very nice sleek design, then came the Samsung Galaxy S II, followed by the Motorola Droid RAZR. Well lets ignore the American and Korean brands for a second here and take focus in on the Chinese company, ZTE.
ZTE’s upcoming Athena handset is looking to sweep its competition by introducing the world’s thinnest device. Previous titleholders were from Huawei and Oppo (also Chinese companies). The Athena boasts a thickness (or thinness) of 6.2mm but is able to squeeze in a 720p HD display and a Cortex-A15 chip with an unknown processing speed. It’s also worth mentioning that the phone will also boast up to 64GB of internal storage with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich installed with ZTE’s own skin called “MiFlavor UI”. On the exterior, Kevlar material will be used, similar to what is found on the Motorola RAZR.
If you are interested in this device and if the GSM bands are compatible with Canadian carriers then you can throw a sim card in and you are good to go.
