TELUS Galaxy S III to receive Jelly Bean “Late November”

Samsung previously stated that Canadians can expect to see an upgrade to Jelly Bean for various Galaxy devices before the holidays. According to TELUS’ “Device OS Upgrade schedule” that was dated October 17th, it shows that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has an “Expected in market date” for late November or late December. If this information is true we have a few more.

TELUS lights up LTE coverage in Lethbridge and Taber

TELUS has recently expanded its network, bringing service to many parts of British Columbia, and today has turned on its LTE network in a couple Albertan municipalities. Lethbridge and Taber are seeing speeds of nearly 40Mbps according to a screenshot sent in from a customer. Of course these speeds are obtainable due to the lack of users on the LTE network and as more subscribe to plans.

TELUS LTE network goes live in BC: Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton

Canada’s largest carriers have been expanding rapidly over the past couple years with their respective LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks — spanning coast to coast. TELUS has continued their expansion and announced that they have invested $1.7 million to bring the super fast speeds to small communities: Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton and the Sea to Sky Highway in British Columbia..

Koodo Mobile launches LTE network across Canada

Koodo Mobile quietly launched their LTE network yesterday across Canada. Their first device to utilize the super fast data speeds is the Apple iPhone 5 and as for the specific coverage, from what we gather, it is the same as parent-company TELUS. The locations currently listed are in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick,.

The new Apple iPhone 5 is now available in Canada at most carriers. It does however, come with a premium price — topping well over $1,000 after tax for the 64GB version. For many, having any iPhone is a goal and in extreme cases, a dream. TELUS releases HTC One V

TELUS has released the HTC One V, an entry-level Android smartphone running 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This handset is one of HTC’s One Series line of smartphones, the smaller and cheaper sibling of the One S and flagship One X. TELUS is dubbing this device a “versatile multi-media phone”. For reminders, the device comes with a 3.7-inch display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor,.

TELUS launching White BlackBerry Bold 9900

We’re still some time away from seeing RIM’s BlackBerry 10 devices but for now the Bold 9900 remains king. The QWERTY-touchscreen handset was originally released in black but Rogers released its albino sibling a few months ago, making them the first Canadian carrier to release a white Bold 9900. TELUS will be launching the white version soon as well, which will run at $99.99.

TELUS investing $840 million in Quebec over the next 3 years

The LTE coverage race in Canada has heated up even more. This time TELUS will be investing a whopping $840 million over the next 3-years to upgrade its wireless and wireline networks. The company recently announced a $650 million investment in upgrading its Ontario networks. TELUS will also expand their Optik TV in Quebec as well and will build a data centre in Rimouski, and will have 75.
