Amazon promises Kindle Fire update — performance and UI improvements promised

Users of the popular Kindle Fire tablet have been complaining about sluggish browsing speeds among other performance concerns. Amazon has told the New York Times that it will be releasing a software update for the Kindle Fire in less than two weeks time. The new software will make the 6.2 update a short-lived update — an OTA that was released at the end of November.

Amazon To Acquire What’s Left Of Palm And webOS?

Didn’t Amazon just release the Android-powered Kindle Fire? It looks like the life of Palm and webOS isn’t completely dead just yet as reports have come out that Amazon has shown interest in the mobile operating system and is currently in talks with Hewlett-Packard to take the slowly-dying webOS project off their hands. According to VentureBeat, an anonymous source has said that.
